The HP Tuners process is a little bit slow get going, but works very well once you get it down. Use a bit of patience and please read the instructions below carefully.
** If you have a Polaris Pro R 4 cylinder RZR, Xpedition, 2024+ RZR XP 1000, or 2025+ Ranger XP 1000, the ECU needs to be sent to us at AA for an ECU unlock so the AA/HPT RTD will communicate with it.
** If you have a Polaris Ranger XD 1500, Can Am Maverick R, 2021+ MG1 X3 RR, X3 135HP, Defender HD11, or Sea Doo 325 model, your ECU needs to be sent to HP Tuners for an unlock. Please contact us for more details or see our product listings for your specific model.
1: Download the TDN (Tune Delivery Network) application on your phone. This is a black/blue logo.
2: Create an HP tuners account and then log in, or log in to your existing HP tuners account. **Note for Dealers/Shops: If you are a shop and programming for a customer, make sure you use the customer’s email address so they can access their tunes later. You will need them to access their email for a confirmation before you can proceed**
3: Plug the RTD into your diagnostic port with the correct cable adapters(if required)
– Diagnostic port location and vehicle specific information posted at the bottom of these instructions. Go read this now.
4: Use the application to sync the device via bluetooth (follow on screen instructions). Keep in mind we found sometimes the RTD lights do not match with the pairing process but this normally still works/pairs.
5: (MOST CAN SKIP THIS STEP) Invite Code (linking us as your tuner): *10/1/2025 Update: If your RTD was purchased through AA, you will NOT need to punch in an invite code, it will automatically link up with us***
– If your RTD was NOT purchased from AA, click the “Account” icon and enter the AA invite code SVMR-1933 and you will be linked up with us as your tuner.
6: Read the stock tune file: Power the vehicle up (2nd key click on Polaris, or key fob in and tap the start button on BRP/Can Am or CF Moto U10 Pro), then go to “Flash” or “Read/Write” in the TDN app and hit “Read vehicle”. Let this process complete and it will notify you when done. You should now see a “restore” file in your “flash” or “read/write” menu. This is your OEM/stock file.
7: Once the read is complete, hit “sync files” and make sure this process completes. There is a green check mark to all files that are synced to the TDN server. This sync process pushes the file to the server so we can access it and create your custom tune file which is directly based off your stock file.
8: Notify us that you are ready for tune files and we will build your files (normally within 1 business day). Make sure to let us know the email address or name your TDN account is under.
9: You will receive an email from us when the tunes are uploaded. You can now go to “Flash” or “Read/Write” in the TDN app and hit “Sync Files”. The tune(s) we uploaded will then appear in the list.
10: Flash the tune file: Power up the vehicle, but do not start it. Do this by turning the key to the full run position which is the 2nd click over for most Polaris models. For Can Am/Sea Doo models, make sure key fob is on the socket, then tap the start button.
– Within your TDN app, hit “flash” or “read/write”. Click on the tune you want to flash and follow on screen instructions to write the file to the ECU. Make sure to keep the key on, and your phone within 10-15ft from the RTD device when flashing.
***Flashing Note for Can Am/BRP MG1 ECU Equipped models (2021+ X3 RR, 135HP X3, Maverick R, Sea Doo 325HP)*** These models require a “Write Full” on the first ECU flash to allow data logging. This is flashing a larger portion of the ECU/data file. To do this, go to your “Flash” menu and hold your finger on the tune you want to write. This opens a hidden menu where you will see “Write Full” and then can flash this way.
11: Once the flash is complete (it says complete in the app), turn the key off and let the vehicle power down, then you are ready to fire it up!
Keep in mind the RTD will draw a small amount of power when plugged in. We don’t suggest leaving it connected for days at a time.
Model Specific Instructions & Invite Codes:
AA Invite Code: SVMR-1933
**Note** Invite codes are only needed to be used if your device was purchased prior to 10/1/2025, or if you purchased an MVPI/RTD from another source rather than AA
– Polaris RZR Pro R 4 Cylinder, Pro XP, Turbo R, Pro S: Diagnostic Port located under steering column
– Polaris RZR Turbo/Turbo S: Diagnostic port under front hood plugged into a dummy plug on the fire wall
– Polaris Xpedition: Diagnostic port is located under the steering column
– Polaris 2024+ XP 1000: Diag port is located under the steering column
– Polaris 2024+ Ranger XD 1500: Diag port is located under the steering column. You must use the CAN jumper cable between the diag port and Polaris adapter cable. MUST remove 5a UNSW ECU fuse when reading/writing. The short CAN jumper cable cannot be connected without removing this fuse, or you may lose function of oil reset/heated seat function on the ride command screen(if equipped).
– Can Am X3 Customers: Diag port is located in the fuse panel in the middle of the dash near windshield or located under the glove box hatch. After tune is built and you are ready to flash, make sure to WRITE FULL on the first flash so data logging will work if needed in the future.
– Can Am Maverick R Customers: Diag port is located in the fuse panel in the middle of the dash near windshield or located under the glove box hatch). After tune is built and you are ready to flash, make sure to WRITE FULL on the first flash so data logging will work if needed in the future.
– Can Am Defender HD11 Customers: Diag port is located under the front hood on the passenger side. After tune is built and you are ready to flash, make sure to WRITE FULL on the first flash so data logging will work if needed in the future.
– CF Moto U10 Pro Customers: U10 Pro OBDII Diag Port is under the front hood, no adapter cable is needed). Have the key fob installed in the slot, and tap the start button to power the vehicle to read or write.
– Sea Doo Switch Pontoon: Diag port is located by removing the rear most panel with the quick lock latch. Then, find the diagnostic port by the coolant reservoir which is square and gray colored.
– If having trouble flashing your Switch or other Sea Doo model: Try keeping the vehicle off, then hit write on the phone app, then power the vehicle up by pressing the start button. This starts the write process JUST before the vehicle powers on.
– Sea Doo PWC: Diag port is usually located near the coolant reservoir and plugged into a dummy plug. The connector is square and gray.
Troubleshooting: If having troubles reading, flashing or updating:
– Make sure your have a good internet connection.
– Disconnect RTD from power and restart your phone application, then try again.
– Go to “Tools” in the app, and then “Resync Interface” which will update the device and resync information from HP tuners.
– Delete the app and re-download. If having troubles with Bluetooth connectivity or other odd issues not resolved by the two solutions above, oftentimes this clears them up.
– If having troubles during/after the write process or a fault is showing, you can go into the flash tune menu list and hold your finger on the tune you want to flash. This will bring up a new menu that will allow you to “Write Full” which oftentimes fixes any flash issues.
– If your issue is not resolved with one of the above “quick fixes” please send us an info log. Make sure the vehicle is powered up and the RTD is connected to the vehicle. Go to “tools” in the app, and hit “gather info log for tech support”. Email this to us via aftermarketassassins@gmail.com
